A Sales Lesson from Sleep Experts?

Sleeping well; selling well - what's the connection

My 18-year-old son struggles with insomnia - some nights are good, many are bad and a few are downright terrible.

This affects his schooling, social life and well-being.

In sales, it’s much the same. Performance can be inconsistent - sometimes great, often not; this impacts results and morale.

Click to watch the video below for a sales solution from a sleep expert.

From the sleep advice given to my son, here’s what sales teams can learn:

Establish a Consistent Process

In both sleep and sales, inconsistency often stems from the lack of a routine. Create a structured approach and stick to it.

Make Small Changes

Tweak one thing at a time. If performance improves, you know the reason. If not, try something else.

Monitor Performance

Without tracking, we don’t know what’s working. Change one behaviour, observe the outcomes and adjust as needed.

Sales, like sleep, is complex - there’s no overnight fix.

But consistency, small changes and performance monitoring create the most likely pathway to reliable, long-term success.

Trust the process; the results will follow.
