Names Matter. Learn Them

Writer: True SalesTrue Sales

I believe in finding small, efficient ways to improve. One of the easiest yet most impactful? Remembering people’s names.

Click the video below to see a few tips on remembering names.

We’ve all been there - you met someone briefly, and the next time you meet they greet you by name.

➡️ You feel panic because you don’t remember their name

➡️ But you also feel warmth because they remembered yours

That feeling of recognition and importance is powerful. So why not give that same feeling to others?

Here’s how to get better at remembering names:

1️⃣ Stop saying, “I’m bad at names”

Your brain listens. Telling yourself this makes it self-fulfilling.

2️⃣ Recognise the power of a name

It makes people feel important, valued and it instantly increases likeability.

3️⃣ Focus for the first 5 seconds

Truly listen when someone introduces themselves. Saying their name once naturally can help, but the key is genuine focus.

Making an effort to remember names is a small habit that brings big results in business and in life.

Give it a try - you might be surprised at the impact.
